Textilia — synthetic wovens and knits since 1969

Techxtilia

Nine finishes, engineered onto our own base cloth.

Our technical division, and the only part of the range with names of its own. Open a card for what a finish does and where it belongs.

  • Sweat beading and spreading across a knit face, raking light
01Tech DryWicking, antimicrobial, odour freeMoves moisture off the skin, and the antimicrobial finish stops odour-causing bacteria taking hold.
  • A damp panel drying back to matte, high key
02Tech FreshAbsorbs moisture, dries quicklyPolyester base built for fast drying.
  • Water standing in beads on a coated face, macro
03Tech RepelentWater repellentSheds water at the surface before it reaches the cloth.
  • A dark panel in full sun, the heat coming off it
04Cold TechReflects heat, even in dark coloursSolar reflective, for garments that live in constant sun without giving up the colour card.
  • A drop of oil sitting on the cloth and leaving no mark
05Nano TechStain protection, cleans with water aloneBoth faces are protected, not only the outer one.
  • Fibre bundle at magnification, every filament coated
06Soil TechIndividually coated fibres repelEach fibre is coated rather than the cloth sealed, so the fabric still absorbs and wicks.
  • The cloth folded to show both faces, one matte and one slick
07Comfort TechQuick drying, antimicrobial, wickingThe dry hand of Tech Dry, plus a nano finish on one face that adds high repellency.
  • Scrubs on the rail in a hospital laundry, steam
08Med Tech DrySilver treated, for medical wash countsHigh antibacterial protection on a silver-treated base, built to survive the wash cycles a hospital puts a garment through.
  • Cloth stretched over a frame outdoors at dusk
09Buzz TechInsect repellent on one faceOne face carries the treatment; the other is left as base cloth.

01 Applications

Specified by end use, not by catalogue page.

A worker in high-visibility coveralls and a hard hat on a deck at sunset, calling in on a radio

Buyers arrive with a garment to make, not a weave to specify. Each of the four segments below carries the references that serve it.

01 / 04

Uniforms

A nurse in scrubs walking out of a hospital, taking the mask down

The deepest segment, and the one with the longest reference lists. Every sub-segment carries its own weight, finish and wash requirement — a hospital gown and a school skirt are not the same problem.

Some of it leaves as cloth. Some of it leaves as the garment.

Every reference above can be bought by the roll. Where a programme needs the made-up garment instead — cut, sewn, decorated and packed — that happens on the same site as the looms.

02 The mill

Four stages, one supply chain, one address.

Vertical integration is why the lead times hold — nothing waits on an outside converter. But the stage buyers come for is the third one: dyeing and finishing is what this mill is known for, and the looms upstream are there to feed it.

  1. Ring spinning frames down the length of an aisle, bobbins filling on every head

    01 / 04

    Spinning

Integrated since 1985 through a partnership with one of the largest and most modern spinning mills in Colombia. The yarn a programme runs on is decided here rather than bought in — recycled yarns included.

    Integrated 1985

  2. Rows of looms in the Textilia weaving hall, cloth rolling off each machine

    02 / 04

    Weaving & knitting

Flat wovens and circular knits run on the same site, so a programme that needs both is one order and one lead time.

    Taffeta · twill · rip-stop · jersey · piqué

  3. The finishing hall, dyeing and coating lines under their pipework

    03 / 04

    Finishing

The stage the rest of the chain exists to serve. Colour matched to your standard and then held there, order after order — the consistency, not the weave, is what keeps a programme here. Print and the Techxtilia finishes run on the same lines, and process water is recycled on site.

Colour matching · colour consistency · print

  4. A sewing module in line, operators at their machines with cut work stacked between them

    04 / 04

    Cut & sew

Cutting and sewing on the same site as the looms, so cloth made here does not have to be shipped out to be made up.

    Cut · sewn · decorated · packed

03 Fabrics

Woven, knit and technical, mostly polyester.

Mostly 100% polyester, and deliberately narrow. Wovens run polyester with a little poly-cotton; knits are polyester and poly-lycra, and nothing else. A short fibre list is what makes a colour repeatable.

    Woven

    Tejido plano

The volume business, and still the widest catalogue — flat cloth was the whole company until the knits arrived in the nineties. Mostly 100% polyester, with a little poly-cotton.

    • Taffeta
    • Twill
    • Rip-stop
    • Coated wovens
  • Jersey knit at macro range, the loop structure raked by low light

    Knit

    Tejido de punto

Circular knits for stretch programmes. Polyester and poly-lycra only, and the lycra blends are what carry the athletic and swim ranges.

    • Jersey
    • Piqué
    • Poly / spandex
    • Lycra blends
  • Water standing in beads on a coated cloth, none of it soaking in

    Technical

    Telas técnicas

Base cloth carrying one of the nine Techxtilia finishes, specified by what it has to survive rather than by how it is built.

    • Antimicrobial
    • Water repellent
    • Solar reflective

Defence

Some of the work here is not ours to describe.

Part of the technical range is supplied under agreements that do not let us name the cloth, the finish, or what it is specified for. It is work the mill is proud of, and this paragraph is as much of it as we are able to publish. If you are specifying to a defence requirement, ask us directly.

04 Cut & sew

Full package: the garment, not just the cloth.

An order can arrive as a sketch and leave as boxed, labelled garments. Six steps, and the list below is the order they happen in.

In proportion

Full package is a small share of our monthly volume, and we would rather say so than let a buyer find it out at the quote. Fabric is the volume business; these modules take the programmes where the garment, not the roll, is what has to ship.

05 Contact

Send us the garment, the wash cycle and the volume.

Quotes and sample requests are routed by segment, so the reply comes from the people who run that programme.
